What type of legacy are you building| Self improvement| Personal Growth| Legacy
Game plan
Will you be remembered for your character, your kindness, your consistency, or will people only remember your mistakes? Every decision, every habit, and every relationship shapes the story you’ll leave behind.
This episode will challenge you to think beyond today and ask yourself if the life you’re living matches the legacy you want to leave. Because one day, your name will be mentioned in a room you’re no longer in.
What will they say?
Yo, what's good? I hope you're having a blessed day. I hope you're having, you know, a great work shift or a great, you know, off day. Listen, I want to talk to you all about what type of legacy will you leave behind? I said it, I talked about it not too long ago and I need to drop that tomorrow. So this probably will be the segment that I would drop 'cause I drop every Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 AM. I've been doing it for some years now. It's been working. And shout out to Jesus Christ.
My consumption hours and my downloads have been growing on Spotify. And I appreciate every single one of you who have been tuning in on Spotify. And I'm a use this platform to promote, you know, my podcast, but I want to talk to you all about what type of legacy will you leave behind? Because most people don't leave
anything good behind to their children. For an example, like you hear so many children, parents, you know, that was born before us, they say, I wish my mom or dad would have set me up for this. I love my mom, but I wish they would have set me up for school, set me up for financial freedom. And you know, I agree with that. You know, not everyone then grow up with a lot of resources and you know that's OK in this life. At the same time, most of us would like, you know, an extra step but extra foot in the door because once you have, you know, leverage and you know, resources and opportunities, you would not have to ever worry about, you know, I'm saying losing a job or stressing about if you can't find a job, if you have leverage and opportunities and leverage and you know, and resources, you'll be good.
I know for me, the type of legacy I would leave behind is, you know, one, being a great God fearing, imperfect man and being a great son and being a great father to my son and being a great brother to my siblings. And then one day be a great husband. If it's the Lord's will. Another legacy is using my platform for good. Thank God that He had given me the ability to use my gift. Many people don't use their gifts. They tend to hold out and wait on the right time. I promise you, I was like that at a certain age.
But I'm glad that I snapped out of it at 21. Most people don't snap out of it. Most people never go after what they always wanted to do. And it could be something simple. And I thank God that he have gave me the ability and the ambition to always go after what I want and that is financial freedom and just freedom to go anywhere I want without limitations. That's the type of legacy that I will leave behind. And I know many years to come, people will be impacted by my podcasts. I've been having my podcast for five years.
Next year will be 6 years. And I expect major, major improvement from, I mean, now I'm pretty comfortable, but you know, I'm not making money yet. But once I do, you know, got to give God the the, the glory and the praise, but the type of legacy that I would leave behind, it will impact so many children. It will impact so many men. I respectfully, well, humbly, I would say I am impacting a lot of men and women who are 60 from the age of all the way all the way from 18 all the way to 65. I've have been impacting a lot of men and women over the past five years.
And one thing that people will say, as I continue to grow into a better man and continue to grow at my own pace when it comes to my podcast, people will say CJ have not ever gave them any bad advice. Now I may joke, I may joke about it, but about certain things, but they'll, they'll know like CJ come from a pure place and that's who I am. I'm a very pure individual or kind. Now I may overthink, but my intentions are pure. My son and his children and children and so forth and so on. They would not have to stress or worry about money.
A lot of us, we worry about money because we know times get hard. We know things are not handed to us, especially if you have to work, you know, hard for everything that you have. I know for me, my son, my siblings will not have to work
as hard as I did. I mentioned, you know, yesterday I worked three jobs. I'm not standing as a flex. I'm just saying like I know whenever, when it's time to enjoy the fruits of my labor, I will enjoy the fruits of my labor because I know how I got there. And once I get there, I'll be more appreciative because I put in the hard work in my earlier years. And I was saying yesterday, most men don't hit their prom until they're 35 and we we don't get to enjoy it. Well, I'm not going to speak that over my life.
But and then sometimes men don't flourish until they're 40. So, you know, we have time. It's just that I know once I become older and I turn 35, bro, I'm a look a lot younger.
I work out every day, you know, type of me working out everyday.
I will still be active with my son or if it's the Lord's will with my children. But the question is what type of legacy will you leave behind? Will you be the one that's complaining saying like, oh, my parents didn't set me up for this, But you're 25. At a certain age, you can't really blame your parents anymore. You just got to go out and go get it, especially for a man. Women there, especially for a man. Before I go into that, most men and other people don't care that you are behind in life. A lot of men have to work to go get it right there.
There is nothing in life that will come easy, especially As for a man, unless you have an uncle or a cousin or a dad that really rock with you to put you in a position. Outside of that, you got to work just like the rest of us. Now when it comes to a woman, there's different avenues for her to get to where she needs to be because they have more sympathy for women. For a man, there's not a lot of sympathy. Gabos game ain't based on sympathy. So no matter how hard you work, keep working because they don't care.
We they, as Steven Naismith, say we don't care. Well, Mike Tomlin, we don't care, right? So your legacy depends on if you listen to this. And you're 20. You're young, but what you do in your 20s matter, OK. What you do in your 20s matters. Your 20s is supposed to set you up for your 30s because your 30s is supposed to be a lot easier. I know my 30s is going to be a lot easier than what my 20s have been. And that's OK. You know, I'm saying I'm OK with working hard because once I get to a place where I am, you know, comfortable money would not be a question for me.
My son would not have to question, oh, why did my dad and set me up? Why did he, you know, do this? Why he didn't do that? Like my son would not have to ever question me about nothing like that because I question myself all the time. What can you do to set yourself up and your son up for generations to come? And one thing, I know that my podcast and the things I do on the side, it will create leverage and that leverage will create opportunities. But how is that going to happen? That's going to be God's will.
God's doing for everything to unfold. I just know that I won't have to stress whenever, you know, God plans, you know, for my podcast to take off. So what you doing right now matters because your legacy, if you have children or you know, if you want to have children, make sure you're doing the necessary things right now so you can set yourself up for success 'cause we tend to blame my parents for. You know that last and I'm not going to lie, my sister, she asked me like, why didn't our parents then set us up?
I'd be asking the same thing. But God has he has blessed me with a talent and that is to speak. And I'm pretty known in certain countries. I have 85 countries that are listening to me on Spotify, you know, in Apple podcast. I'm Dana all over, but not everybody know me just yet.
And legacy behind is either I become fully grown trans woman or the trans woman just like all the other trans women that shine, that keep on going, that keep striving to be who they are and just physically change and emotionally change. For the good. And I mean good. Just like the the movie Wicked, Just like the play Wicked, I have been shaped. OK, yo, I was not expecting, you know what I'm saying to be saying, but you know, that's what I was saying. That's that's crazy. That's that's crazy. But like I said, most of us complain about why we are in this situation.
I know for me, I did. I stopped complaining when I turned 24 because I realized there's no sympathy for men. And if it's not your mom or your dad, people don't care. You have people in your family, they do care. They will help you out. But if you are not like persistent, people are going to forget about you. People will forget about you. And especially if you're looking for handouts, if you're looking for handouts, but you're thinking that life is going to be easy, it ain't, you feel me? Especially for a man, it's not going to ever be easy for those for us, but it will be easy once you breakthrough that barrier of
what I'm trying to find the right word of being financially stable. Once you do that and you have resources, are you good to go? Like angle, like you good for a long time, you good for a long time and you don't have to stress or worry. Like Dang, my son and daughters don't have this. What am I going to do? I sign up for fastball. I can't help you out. Hell no. My son, my children, they won't have to worry about it, but they gonna have to put in the work for sure because I have put in the work. It took me years to build my platform.
It took me years to get to where I am at now. Now, I'm not saying, you know, everything is easy for me because it's not like I said, as a man, it's always going to be hard. But what you do determines what you would do, you know, in your later years. So you need you have to work hard in order to have a great legacy behind you, and especially if you want to be wealthy, if you want to be known for something good. I know for a fact once I leave this earth and it won't be soon, but whenever I leave this earth, people will say great things.
Be like man, like CJ is a great dude and he's got fearing he he loves his son. He loves, you know, people. He's a family man, like, and he has humor. That's what I leave behind. I'm gonna leave a lot of stuff behind where people cannot take away from me and like my podcast. But it's gonna I feel and I know like my podcast will be better than Eric Thomas motivation, Joe Rogan. It's gonna be better than all of it. They may not be better right now, but years to come people gonna be like damn like this dude is unstoppable.
This dude can't be touched. But you know, I appreciate y'all for tuning in, you know what I'm saying? This is just my little spill on you know. What type of legacy will you leave behind?
