Be Careful Who You Marry | Dating Advice, Marriage & Healthy Relationships
Game plan
We spend so much time talking about finding “the one” that we rarely talk about the risks of choosing the wrong one. The wrong relationship can cost you your peace, your money, your reputation, your mental health, your relationship with your children, and even years of your life.
Are people ignoring red flags because they’re lonely? Are we choosing looks over character? Have social media, unrealistic expectations, and dating culture made it harder to recognize healthy partners?
In this episode, I’m asking the uncomfortable questions: Should love ever be enough? Is marriage still worth the risk? Are people doing enough to vet the person they’re committing to, or are they falling in love with potential instead of reality?
This conversation isn’t about blaming men or women—it’s about accountability, discernment, and making one of the biggest decisions of your life with your eyes open. Join the debate and tell us: What’s the biggest red flag people ignore before saying “I do”?
Yeah, what's good? Everyone listen, be careful on who you lay down with. I say that all the time, and I said it before, but like who you marry, who you date is important, but who you marry is very important. Very important. Number one, they should be God fearing. If the person is not God fearing, they're not. When I say God fearing, that means they're imperfect. They're not going to be perfect. They may still like to smoke weed, they may still like to drink or whatever, but certain things can't be excused.
Like still have a past of cheating, still on crack. You know what I'm saying? Stuff like that. But you that you can't forgive, I won't forgive you. That's up to God, but I'll forgive you later on. They have to be God fear. If they're not God fearing, you won't be able to hear God clearly. You're not going to hear God all the time, but he's always speaking. So when you have two people working together and they're God fearing God say when two or more gathered they should surely be. So when y'all both are God fearing, one of y'all going to be able to hear God when 1 is not mentally there or physically there or sick or whatever the case may be right two, I refuse to be that parent where my son and children to come whenever it's the right time.
I refuse to be that parent where my son need me but I can't help him financially. So who you marry, who you date is important. You got to find someone who's good with money. Now you can't be the person to where you know, you just want to splurge all the time, right? You can't splurge all the time. You got to know when to save and know when I you know not, I ain't going to say when I have to save, but you got to know when to save and you know when to spend a little bit, right? It's a lot of parents who can't financially provide for their children.
I want to be able to and I will, I'll be able to provide for my son financially and mentally. Like I'll be there for my son and my children to come. Whenever that time presents itself, I will be there. Most people can't. Most people can't do that. You want to be able to do that for your children. So if the person is not God's feeling and you're not financially ready to have more children, don't do it. Don't do it. It costs, They say it costs 300,000 take to take care of child, bro. Six years ago it costs.
When I was in school, it was only 30,000. It was only 30,000, bro. That went up a lot. It went up a lot. You want to, you should date someone and marry someone who's smart, smarter than you or smart as you, who's good with money and who's good with children. If you want children, it's important. I see a lot of men, a lot of women who get on social media and talk about how bad their baby father or baby mom is. You know, they'll have a family with you, but take care of the other family that they, you know, happen to be married in and take care of them more than they take care of their own children.
And they do a better job with the other children than they own children. It's important to pick. It's important to let God pick. Don't don't you pick because sometimes we can pick wrong and we do. Like I owned up to that, like I picked wrong, but I had to do that. So I can understand. Yeah, I may have a good, yeah, I may have a taste or a type when it comes to women, but that just may not be the woman that God want me to be with.
Yeah, it's important who you like lay down with. It's important because true character will outweigh any lie. And most people there are good when it comes to talking. You got to stay away from smooth talkers. The Bible talks about smooth talkers, right? Because you'll talk to someone that you'll never know they're in a relationship. You'll never know they married man. I'm telling y'all like I didn't met him. I met plenty of married women who wanted to risk it. But I'm not going to risk my life. I can't.
I'm not going to risk my life for that, not for no pussy. Nah, I'm straight on that. So you got to be careful on smooth talkers, right? You got to be careful when it comes to choosing your partner, and it's not about you too. I want to say that. It's about your children and so forth and so on. You got to build a legacy. So having the right partner is important. That's number 3. Having the right partner is important because marriage is a business, but it's also a covenant that you made with God. You made with you made a covenant with God.
You have to honor the marriage. You have to honor the person that you're talking to. I know the the person that God had for me. You know, I know that it'll be perfect, not saying the marriage, but perfect timing. You know, everything worked out. You know itself, but be careful on who you choose. Most people are not good with money. You talking to someone who's beautiful or who's handsome, but they're terrible at they're terrible with money. You got to go down their credit history. You got to go down their credit line.
The reason why you have to do that is because you had one day you got to trust your partner. If you can't trust your partner, you know what I'm saying with money that you you just can't trust them. It's important to trust your your partner whenever the time come. But I wouldn't I don't want to make this longer than what it is. Just be careful on who you choose as a partner. Marriage is fine. I believe it marriage is has its up and downs and but it's beautiful. If you, you, you choose the right person.
I'm sorry, I'm in the car, but like, if you choose the right person, marriage can be fun, but just be smart, be have money so your children can be at peace. You know have have enough money where your children can be at peace and have a great time, but a lawyer not at your soul.
